A Little About the Author

The Lord has given me a passion for His Word and my goal is to share that passion with you through this Blog. Let me take a few moments to share about myself. My name is Chris Baker. I was born in Northeast Philadelphia in the early 80’s, and NO I was not friends with the “Fresh Prince of Belair”. Philly was my home for most of my teenage life until I moved to New Jersey. My wife Jen and I lived in NJ until May of 2019 and then moved to the mountains of Pennsylvania. Within a twelve-year period, we went from the ocean to the mountains. Even though I cherish my years at the shore, I am also looking forward to building new memories in the mountains. 

The Lord called me to ministry in 2007, while completing my Discipleship Training School with Youth With A Mission. I began pastoring in 2007 and was ordained in the Church of the Nazarene in 2017. I have pastored in Cape May NJ, Pennsville NJ, and Limerick PA. Currently, I am pastoring a church in Limerick PA and working as a part-time chaplain in Allentown PA. Preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ is one of my greatest passions!

My beautiful wife Jen and I were married in August of 2007. We love to be outdoors! Whatever we may be doing outside, whether it’s walking, hiking, bike riding or yard work, we enjoy being in God’s creation. Some of my other passions include reading, working with my hands, running, and yard work. 

I hope to encourage and motivate you to see, hear, and experience the Lord in your own life. This blog is an outpouring of my personal prayer time with the Lord. I pray that it may inspire your own thoughts about God’s Word!
